Workshop - Marine Invasive Species

“Quantifying the effects of exotic species on marine ecosystems” is a Ahmed Juffali Research Chair workshop to be run at KAUST from April 30th to May 4th, with Drs Catherine Lovelock, Nuria Marba, Just Cebrian, Paulina Martinetto, Scott Bennett and Julia Santana-Garzon as guest scientists.

The final goals of the workshop are to assess the magnitude of impacts of invasive species in the marine environment, as compared to those on land, and to compare the top most notorious invasive species across marine and terrestrial-freshwater systems.

During the workshop, there will be a mini-symposium on Wednesday the 3rd of May from 14:00 to 16:30 in building 3, room 5220, which will be an opportunity for researchers at the RSRC to interact with our guests. The title of the symposium is "Shifts in species range: The role of climate change and invasive species".

Impact of research on plastic consumption - Participate in our Survey!

We are excited to invite your scientific team to participate in our survey. We are interested in assessing the impact of plastic pollution consumption in Marine and Biomedical Sciences. The information provided will be invaluable for understanding the extent of plastic usage in research facilities and improving laboratory practices towards more impactful and sustainable scientific research.
