Taiba Alamoudi Receives 2024 For Women in Science Award

Tareq Ahmed Juffali Research Chair in Red Sea Ecology (TAJRC), proudly celebrates the recognition of its member Taiba Alamoudi, a PhD candidate under the mentorship of Professor Carlos Duarte, as one of the 2024 Young Talents of the Middle East by the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Programme. This prestigious accolade highlights her exceptional contributions to marine science and her commitment to addressing climate change and sustainability challenges in the Red Sea.

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Programme recognizes emerging female scientists who are driving innovation and promoting excellence in research. Taiba’s work, which focuses on macroalgae bioprospecting, coral reef ecology, and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems, exemplifies the TAJRC’s mission to advance scientific understanding of the Red Sea and its critical role in global ecology.

Reflecting on her achievement, Taiba said, “This recognition is a testament to the incredible teamwork and support I’ve received from my colleagues and mentors at TAJRC. Impactful science is always a collective effort.
