Biography

● The ecology of marine microbes as makers and breakers of dissolved organic carbon, which makes one the largest pools of organic carbon in the biosphere.
● Microbial hydrolases and degradation of polymeric organic matter.
● The effect of global change on microbial cycling of matter and the role of microbes in buffering global change impacts.
● The oceans as source of genetic resources of biotechnological interest.
