Biography

I am an Italian 29 years old Environmental Scientist, Marine Scientist, EFR and scuba diving instructor. My dream is to become a marine researcher and work within the conservation field. They say "if you truly love nature you will find beauty everywhere". I can relate better to something like "if you truly love nature you want to investigate everything everywhere, so you’ll be able to protect it”.

I chose this path in life because I strongly believe in the power of research as a mean to help our world to recover, at least a little bit, from anthropic damaging activities. It's such a shame not to be able to preserve what we love the most, and for me is the ocean and its inhabitants.

I have a weakness for elasmobranchs (like sharks, rays and skates) because even if they're generally overlooked, persecuted and exploited, they really are important keystone species that need all our protection. If we lose them, then we will lose even more in our Oceans. Healthy ecosystems need healthy communities, but nowadays there's still the need to raise awareness about this topic.

I hope to become one of those amazing voices that speak for a planet that doesn't have a voice for itself.
